According to the Imam of the wise (a), the correct and wise choice is a ruler who, even if he is not a sage himself, chooses his counselors from among scholars and sages.
The latest issue of Kheradname-ye Sadra Quarterly, which pertains to the field of Islamic philosophy, has been recently published. The permission holder and the Editor-in-Chief of this Journal is Professor Seyyed Mohammed Khamenei. Given the fact that we are at the threshold of the 10th presidency election, the editorial of this issue focuses on this issue. Here, the writer analyzes the criteria for the best and wisest choice relying on the words of God and the Infallible Imam (a). The writer believes that one of the main sources of the Alawite wisdom is the order of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (a) to Malik Ashtar. Based on this order, he maintains that consulting with scholars and philosophers in order to secure the good and resources of a nation is one of the characteristics of a wisdom-oriented ruler. The editorial continues with a quotation from the Commander of the Faithful (a): "People must choose a ruler who follows the 'right path', spreads his justice every where, and seeks people’s satisfaction. However, the people who surround him must also be gallant, must belong to a lineage of trustworthy and righteous people, and have a good background. This is because the companions of a ruler represent the character of that leader." The President of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute maintains that Imam Ali’s extremely wise instructions refer to certain elements in a ruler’s character which give us hope for a future abounding in glory, security, and grace, as well as welfare for voters and other people and independence, freedom, and honor for the country and the whole nation. The Editor-in-Chief of Kheradname-ye Sadra writes at the end of his editorial: voting for the bad and not considering wisdom and piety as the criterion for recognizing the good from the bad does not lead to the best choice and is a deviation from the rational method. Moreover, it represents the character of voters because, according to the holy Qur’an, “The wrong only seeks and chooses the wrong.” The 55th issue of Kheradname-ye Sadra continues with Dr. Shirwan’s article called “The Possibility of Intuitive Philosophy”. The latest issue of the scientific-research Quarterly of Kheradname-ye Sadra in the field of Islamic Philosophy has been published by the Publication Center of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute in 112 pages and at a price of 1000 Tomans and is now available to the lovers of philosophy and wisdom.
