The 17th Conference on Commemorating Mulla Sadra was held on 22nd May, 2013 by the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Research Institute. The Conference was inaugurated with the recital of some verses from the Holy Qur’an and the anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Adineh Conference Hall. The first speech was given by Professor Seyyed Mohammed Khamenei, President of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute on “Philosophy and Way of Life in Mulla Sadra’s Transcendent Philosophy”. Then Dr. Ahmad Ahmadi, professor of philosophy at Tehran University spoke about “Mulla Sadra’s Practical Wisdom and Way of Life”. Dr. Manuchehr Sane’i Darreh Bidi, Dr. Hossein Kalbasi, Dr. Hossein Bulkhari, Dr. Qasim Purhassan, and Dr. Hamid Reza Ayatullahi were among the speakers who spoke in the morning sessions. During the afternoon sessions of this specialized Conference, other philosophers evaluated and reviewed the various dimensions of “Philosophy and Way of Life”. Finally, the Conference was closed with the speech of Professor Gholamhossein Ibrahimi Dinani. It is worth mentioning that in this one-day Conference, about thirty speeches based on selected papers were presented in two saloons in parallel sessions. Moreover, during a special ceremony and as one of the peripheral events of the Conference, two of Professor Khamenei’s books, Political Memoirs of Professor Seyyed Mohammed Khamenei and the collection of his interviews entitled Plectrums and Melodies were displayed for first time.
