Al-Hikmat al-muta'aliyyah fi al-asfar al-arba'ah, vol. 2

The second volume of al-Asfar continues the discussions of the first volume (general affairs). The first volume, which consists of three parts (stages), discusses the principles of existence and its createdness. The second also consists of three parts. The first part (fourth stage) consists of nine chapters on quiddity and the related issues and the demonstration of the Ideas of Platonic intellect. The second part (fifth stage) includes seven chapters on unity and plurality, and the third (sixth stage) involves 39 chapters on cause and effect.

One of the characteristics of this book is that its extensive Introduction, which has been written by its editor, presents a summary of the issues propounded in the book and Mulla Sadra's theories and ideas.

The second volume of al-Asfar al-arba'ah, written by Mulla Sadra, has been published with the edition, research, and Introduction by Maqsud Muhammedi under the supervision of Professor Seyyed Mohammed Khamenei in 574 pages, followed by an index of the cited verses, hadiths, and poems, by the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute.
