Danishnamah 'Alaei, Treatise on Logic
Danishnamah 'Alaei is one of the invaluable and lasting works of Ibn Sina. He wrote this treatise in Dari Persian in five chapters (on logic, natural or lower science, astronomy, music, and first philosophy) between 413 and 428 AH. Here, Ibn Sina has tried to limit himself to using Persian words as much as possible.
The subjects discussed in Danishnamah 'Alaei include conjugate syllogism, interpellative Syllogism, induction, form and matter of syllogism, types of the problems in demonstrative sciences, and the testaments which are immune against fallacies. This book is devoted to the chapter on logic in Danishnamah 'Alaei. Nawwab Muqarrabi has commented on and edited this book and Qasim Purhassan has written an Introduction to it.
At the end of the book, in order to facilitate using it for research purposes, a descriptive index of key terms along with the definition of logical terms is provided to interested readers.
The book Danishnamah 'Alaei, Treatise on Logic by Ibn Sina has been published in Persian under the supervision of Seyyed Mohammed Khamenei in 195 pages by the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute.
