“Birth of Philosophical Thought” in the Third Issue of the Philosophy and Children Special Edition                 15.08.2010

 

The third issue of the special edition of Philosophy and Children was published by the “Philosophy and Children Research Department” of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Research Institute under the management of Zohreh Hosseini and supervision of Professor Seyyed Muhammed Khamenei, the President of the Institute.

 

In the editorial of this issue, by reference to the necessity of paying attention to the philosophical and spiritual training of children in society, Zohreh Hosseini writes:

If we understand the significance of this point and start training our dearest children following the scientific methods which are used in research by authorities in the field of philosophy and children, perhaps in the future we will not witness any credulity, superficial judgments, and vulnerability to the propaganda of foreign media on the part of the young generation anymore. In this way, by training a reflective and logical generation, we will be able to guarantee the security and development of our society.

At the end, the writer emphasizes that she expects the authorities in the field of culture to modify and correct the cultural affairs in society far from any kind of tight theoretical points of view, unhealthy competitions, and political considerations.

The third issue of the Philosophy and Children special edition published by the “Philosophy and Children Research Department” of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Research Institute consists of seven specialized papers in various fields of the philosophical training of children as follows:

- “Emotional Creativity in Children” by Mahboobeh Alborzi

- “Birth of Philosophical Thought” by Mahboobeh Espidkar

- “A Comparative Study of Dynamic and Creative Methods with the Philosophy and Children Program” by Ali Khaliqkhah and Ahmed Akbari

- “Children, Creativity, and Critical Thinking” by Ayyub Mahmoodi

- “Place of Philosophy Curriculum for Children in the Iranian System of Education and Training” by Parwin Samadi and M’asumah Ramezani

- “The Role of Sex in Intellectual and Philosophical Training” by Fatimah ‘Alipur

The third issue of “Philosophy and Children Special Edition” was published in 100 pages by the Publications Center of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Research Institute and is now available to interested readers. The editor-in-chief of this Special Edition is Mojgan Parwinian.
