The 18th Conference on commemorating Mulla Sadra was held on 22nd May like the previous years in Adineh Conferences Complex more successfully than ever before. A brief report of the stages of holding this Conference is given below:

1. In order to turn philosophy into an applied science and gain scientific purposes and results, the Sadra Islamic Philosophy has concentrated on subjects in practical wisdom in choosing the themes of its conferences since long ago. Given this purpose and the demands of the time, “Philosophy and World Peace” was chosen as the theme of this year’s Conference.

2. Initially, the theme and the related subcategories were approved by the Scientific Council and the Board of Trustees of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute on 13.01.2014. Following this, the call for papers for the Conference was given on 21.01.2014 through the mass media, posters at universities and academic institutes, correspondence with philosophy professors, and the official website of the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute.

3. Before the determined deadline, 190 papers by 203 professors and researchers were sent to the Conference Secretariat, from among which 117 papers were approved by the Scientific Council of the Conference. The abstracts of all these papers were published in the Conference Proceedings in 176 pages and given to all the participants on the day of the Conference. The book of the collection of the Conference papers will be published in the near future.

4. From among the accepted papers, 33 were presented in parallel sessions in two saloons from 8.30 am until 7.00 pm.

5. The 18th Conference on commemorating Mulla Sadra was greatly welcomed by professors, university students, seminary students, high school teachers, and other philosophy lovers. It is estimated that about 1000 people attended the Conference, which was quite unprecedented.
