Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim, Vol. 5 (Ayat al-Kursi and Ayat al-Nur) , Arabic (2011)

Mulla Sadra's interpretation of Almighty's Word can be considered to be his most precious work. The 5th volume of this 8-volume collection is devoted to the interpretation of Ayat al-Kursi (chapter al-Baqara: 255-257) and Ayat an-Noor (chapter Noor: 35).

In his interpretation of Ayat al-Kursi, Mulla Sadra reminds those who believe in the exegesis of the Qur'an and pay no attention to its verbal meaning as follows: "You are well-aware that changing the common meanings of Qur'anic words will result in confusion for readers; however, the Qur'an has been sent to lead God's servants, to train them, and to facilitate their affairs and not to convey His messages using a very complicated language. Thus it is necessary to define and interpret the words in the same way that ordinary people use and understand them in order to avoid confusion and misunderstanding."

This prominent interpreter has presented an Introduction, 20 articles, and a conclusion in this interpretation of Ayat al-Kursi. In the interpretation of verse an-Noor, Mulla Sadra deals with some problems such as the meaning of light, light as the perfection of existents, the meaning of addition of light to the spheres and the Earth, the sameness of the knowledge of Almighty Truth with His essence and the cause of the creation of objects, and the dependence of things on Him. He also explains in this work that the Holy Prophet(s) sends a divine light from himself to those who are rightfully related to him. This is the very meaning of intercession.

A complete collection of indexes of the hadiths, Persian and Arabic poems, names of people, places, and technical terms has been provided at the end of the book in order to facilitate further research.
