Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim, Vol. 1 (Interpretation of Chapter al-Fatihah), Arabic (2001)
From among the several interpretations of the Qur'an, Mulla Sadra's is so valuable and important that he deserves to be given the nickname master of interpreters. He has investigated the divine speech based on a philosophical, gnostic, and intuitive approach and presented his intuitive findings in the mould of a commentary in a scientific and Qur'anic language.
Mulla Sadra wrote his Interpretation of the Qur'an during the various periods of his life. However, a single spirit dominates all parts of this work. The first volume of the eight-volume collection of the Interpretation of the Qur'an, in addition to three books, entails some general explanations by Professor Seyyed Mohammed Khamenei on the Qur'an and hadith. In the first book, entitled Knowledge of the Qur'an, Mulla Sadra has discussed the meaning of revelation, miracle of the Qur'an, history of the Qur'an, the structure and form of the Qur'an, and its social roles and functions. The second book is on the knowledge of interpretation and discusses the semantics, methods, and types of interpretation.
The third book is devoted to Mulla Sadra's great interpretation. This part speaks of his motive for writing this book and his method, principles, and sources of interpretation.
The first volume of this series of interpretations is devoted to chapter Fatiha al-Kitab. After interpreting it, Mulla Sadra has spoken of the virtues and order of this chapter in an independent section. At the end of this book, the lists of cited hadiths, poems, and expressions as well as the sources of research have been provided in order to facilitate further research for interested readers.
The book Interpretation of the Qur'an has been published under the supervision of Professor Seyyed Mohammed Khamenei in 596 pages by the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute. Muhsen Bidarfar is the editor of this book, has performed the required research work, and written an Introduction to it.
