A Philosophical and Gnostic Analysis of the Holy Spirit in Religious Texts

The origin of philosophy and thought can be traced back to the beginning of humanity. An issue that has always occupied the human mind in the course of history is the nature of supernatural beings, and one of these beings which has been emphasized in a way by all heavenly religions is the Holy Spirit.

One of the books that has analyzed this issue is A Philosophical and Gnostic Analysis of the Holy Spirit in Religious Texts. It has been tried in this book to provide some answers from different viewpoints to questions such as "What is the nature if the Holy Spirit as an existent?", "What is its ontological level?", "What pictures have heavenly religions provided for it?", etc.

This work has two parts. The first part entitled "The Concept of the Holy Spirit and its Place in the Pre-Islamic Philosophies and Religions" consists of five chapters with the following topics: "The Concept of the Term Spirit", "The Holy Spirit in the Teachings of Zoroastrian religion", "The Holy Spirit in the Philosophies of Ancient Greece," "The Holy Spirit in Jewish Religious Texts and Philosophies", and "The Holy Spirit in Christian Religious Texts and Philosophies."

The second part is devoted to the Holy Spirit in Islamic teachings and thought and consists of four chapters as follows: "The Nature of the Holy Spirit in the Holy Qur'an and Interpretations", "The Holy Spirit in Transmitted Texts", "The Holy Spirit as Viewed by Muslim Philosophers", and "The Holy Spirit in Islamic Gnosis".

The book A Philosophical and Gnostic Analysis of the Holy Spirit in Religious Texts by Dr. Fatima Alipour has been published in 350 pages by the Sadra Islamic Philosophy Institute.
